|

text (long) How was the transition from pinball games to 3D first person shooters made? At any point were you surprised at the direction Digital Extremes was heading, or was this a natural progression for the company?
Well we were very interested in expanding into the 3D world of games…it was the new exciting somewhat uncharted thing at the time and we wanted to be involved. So I started experimenting and soon a nice demo up and running. At that point we realized we needed an editing too so Tim Sweeney joined in and before we knew it Unreal was born. No surprises at the direction DE was going…as long as technology continues to expand, Digital Extremes will be right there to take advantage of it.
