Mods  Conquest Marines Interview   lara 03.08.2003
text (short)

text (long)

HomeLAN - Do you think the contest will encourage more cool mods in the UT 2003 community?

ZappyAd - I hope so - the UT engine is fantastic and gives mod (and game) makers a great opportunity to build something cool, which after all is exactly what you want an engine to do! I don't think we've seen the limits of what's possible by any means. Add to the engine the fact that there's a chance of winning prizes and I think a lot more teams are going to start trying to develop things.

It will be interesting to see how things work out towards the end of the year - the updated UT2004 engine is obviously eagerly anticipated but there are a couple of other games coming out that have the potential to offer a great platform to build mods on. I'm pretty positive that the Unreal technology will prove competitive enough to convince mod makers to stick with it.
