UnrealEngine  Y-Project Interview&XIII First Look   lara 25.09.2002
text (short)

text (long)
quote:
Can you tell me something more about the game play especially the RPG-elements?
Sure. Your character?s skills will change according to
the way you play the game, which is quite a unique RPG feature in itself. We spent a lot of time analysing games of all kinds to get down to the features which make them special and the reasons why people play (and buy!) them.
We think that today?s RPG?s are rather conventional when it comes to character generation and development: you still create a character at the beginning of the game and stick with it until the end, leaving hardly any room for any development except for the some arbitrary gaining of levels and items.
However, in ?The Y-Project? you will have full control over your character?s development. Hopefully, this will introduce something new to the genre.
