Misc  Interview!   terraX 13.09.2002
text (short)
Hier ist ein original Auszug aus einem Interview mit Angel Munoz, Gründer und Chef der CPL.
quote:
What about the CPL seems to get it the most publicity? The large prizes? The fact that it\'s about video games? What factors play the largest part in putting the CPL on the map?

I think that the factor that gets the media most interested in us is the enthusiasm and sincerity of our staff. After five years all members of the CPL are still completely fired up about our goals and feel they have written a new chapter in the history of the interactive entertainment industry. Just look at the number of imitators out there now claiming large prize tournaments launched by publishers like Microsoft, Sierra, Activision, id Software, Gateway and others. These \\\\\\\"tournaments\\\\\\\" are nothing but self-promotions of their own product lines. The CPL stands alone in building competitive computer gaming as a professional sport in a league format and maintaining an arms length relationship with developers and publishers. This uniqueness may also be an attraction for the press.

Im wesentlichen geht es darum, welche Faktoren die CPL zu einer der größten und wichtigsten Ligen im Bereich E-Sports machen.
