Dr.Sin hat im INA Forum einen Kommentar bzgl. illegaler Keys für UT2004 abgegeben. Demnach gibt es zwar einfache Möglichkeiten Schlüssel zu erstellen, mit denen sich das Spiel installieren lässt, allerdings werden diese Keys bei Onlinespiel vom Masterserver überprüft. Dabei kommen auch Routinen zum Einsatz, die geklaute Keys identifizieren sollen. Origianl Post und show more.

CDKey gens simple create keys that pass a simple checksum to see if the key itself is possibly valid. When you connect to a server, your CDKEY hash is sent to the master server. If it doesn't exist you are removed. So you can't really use it to play online. You can try and randomly create keys and hope you get one of the ones we have defined as a valid key, but that's a kin to winning the lottery. So even if 3 or 4 poeple have amazing luck, it won't really hurt us.
Also, we have a lot of new detection code at the master server looking for people who have stolen CDKEYS. |
