text (short) Mark Rein auf die Frage der Homepage Unreality zur Zukunft von UT 2003:
quote: I have no idea where you got these erroneous player and server numbers because there are a few thousand servers and a few thousand players playing UT2003 right now. Maybe that was a hiccup in your server-finding program.

quote: I have no idea where you got these erroneous player and server numbers because there are a few thousand servers and a few thousand players playing UT2003 right now. Maybe that was a hiccup in your server-finding program.
As for sales, publicly available (NPD) numbers indicate that for the first four months of sales UT2003 has sold 42% better than the original did in its first four months so the game is doing extremely well. There are tons of awesome mods underway, we're working on starting up a HUGE, big-money, mod contest in the next month or two, Digital Extremes just released an awesome bonus pack last week, we've released several patches that not only fixed bugs but also greatly improved functionality and we have an amazing bonus pack in the works with 3 new gametypes, a bunch of cool new maps and some really spectacular architectural content that we think mod and map makers are going to have some fun with including the "junkyard" set. We're gradually improving our standing in the competitive community. The CPL ran a huge UT2003 tournament which wasn't without some growing pains on our end but we're certainly learning from them and we will get better each time. The VGA is going like gangbusters across the United Kingdom and the next edition of the World Cyber Games will be starting up soon. We're close to release a really spectacular UT2003-TV mod that will help competitions capture really great footage from the game. Plus the fine folks at 3Dbuzz.com are assembling a massive selection of Video Training Modules that teach mod makers and gamers alike how to build mods and new content for UT2003. They're scheduled to give live UT2003 content-building presentations for us at the upcoming Game Developers Conference as well.
So things are going extremely in the Unreal Tournament world right now. |
