Slewfoot: Fragball Xeros will be the game type, and Fragbert can better explain how it will work than I can.
fragbert: A big lesson from UT Fragball was that original gametypes are extremely hard to popularize. All other in-game content is sent by servers, but players already need to have a custom gametype installed to even find servers for it. If UT, and now UT2003, had simply included a browser tab for all custom gametypes, this chicken-and-egg problem would disappear. So Fragball Xeros will work as both a BR mutator and a custom gametype. A mutator alone isn't enough because some critical features are hard coded into BR, and require a custom gametype to replace. |
