Raven Shield  RavenShield Interview   lara 10.01.2003
text (short)

text (long)
quote:
InGaming : The trend for gaming at the moment seems to be moving towards more and more realistic and authentic titles, as we're seeing with Novalogic's Black Hawk Down, Gotham Games' Conflict: Desert Storm, and previously with the Rainbow 6 and Ghost Recon series. Do you think there is a point where things might get too realistic and further fuel the fire that is currently the censorship debate surrounding computer games (as a result of the release of games like Grand Theft Auto 3)?

Ubi Developers : I think this is a subject matter that as to be examined on a game to game basis? The Rainbow Six series as never promoted free violence? that is you can?t shoot civilians, hostages, animals and the like. This is a game about operatives taken on terrorists? Good guys versus Bad guys? Of course, we want this game to be as realistic as possible while being fun to play at the same time? and let?s face it, it is a game! I think realism in a game is a good thing, but much more can come into debate when talking about free violence? And these are, I believe, two different things.
